About
Simenstadkjøkkenet restaurant – seasonal food in a stately setting
A visit to Simenstad is a unique journey in food and culture. You are welcomed into a private home, and get to experience a vibrant farm and hosts who are thrilled to share their cultural heritage. The food at Simenstad is home-cooked and personal with lots of flavour, and the generous portions are served in stately surroundings. In summer, visitors can enjoy the gardens where there is plenty of seating and also a pavilion.
Simenstadkjøkkenet restaurant is synonymous with authenticity, local produce, and excellent cuisine. The result is pure, honest, and safe seasonal food. Everything is made from scratch, and is based on local ingredients. We are lucky to have these resources right our doorstep, and we have been awarded Green Gourmet accreditation. Green Gourmet is organic, healthy, colourful, and unusual food such as sides for meat and fish or full vegetarian menus.
Everyone visiting Simenstad asks to see the kitchen – the heart of the farm – with the AGA oven which is ideal for slow-cooking, the beautiful fireplace, and the interior inspired by Aulestad, Bjerkebækk and Mårbacka
